This monumental armoire, crafted from rich Bubinga and Kingwood, is a stunning example of 18th-century French Louis XV style, also known as "Armoire Lyonnaise". The cabinet features a distinctive "chapeau de gendarme" or double bonnet top, adorned with a central carved shell motif. The four doors display magnificent, book-matched panels of highly figured Bubinga, framed by Kingwood, and topped with intricate, high-relief carvings of stylized dragons or foliage. Standing on elegant scroll feet, the piece is further enhanced by ornate, period-appropriate brass hardware, embodying the opulence and sophisticated craftsmanship of the era.
