This imposing armoire is crafted from dark wood with an elegant, shaped cornice and cabriole legs. The four doors are accentuated with decorative gold-toned trim and elaborate gilt-bronze appliqués, known as ormolu, which are characteristic of 18th and 19th-century French luxury furniture. The upper panels of each door feature a distinctive, stylized dragon or seahorse motif in the gilt metalwork. The rich contrast between the chocolate wood and the shimmering gold mounts creates a luxurious and regal appearance.
